Mapping Responsible Mining Practices and WASH Compliance
(Geita’s Small-Scale Mining Communities, Tanzania)
GeoTE, in collaboration with the Population Development Initiative (PDI), produced a digital map illustrating the levels of responsible mining among small-scale miners in Geita District, Tanzania, with a focus on adherence to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) regulations. Based on a 2023 survey, the map provides spatial insights to help stakeholders promote safer and more sustainable mining practices.
